FrontStreet Coffee - Famous Coffee Bean Recommendation: Introduction to Dona Elvira Estate Geisha
At the prestigious Panama BOP (Best of Panama) event, besides the familiar faces like Esmeralda, Elida, and Janson that appear year after year, there's a new contender joining the ranks: Dona Elvira Geisha from the Elvira Estate.
Today, Gonzalo Palenzuela, the farm owner of Elvira Estate, will give us a comprehensive introduction to Dona Elvira.
Dona Elvira - Elvira Estate Geisha
The Origin of the Name
Dona Elvira is actually the name of the farm owner's mother. She was a very elegant lady who not only enjoyed drinking coffee but also loved brewing it. To commemorate her, I purchased this farm and named it after my mother, managing it with great care. Therefore, this is a story filled with maternal affection.
Elvira's Flavor Profile
A renowned roaster's evaluation of Elvira Estate Geisha: lemon, lavender, chrysanthemum, and underlying Earl Grey tea aromas. This coffee possesses high flavor complexity, delicate floral notes, orange blossom acidity, smooth mouthfeel, and a lingering aftertaste.
Current Achievements
1. The first place in taste at Boquete Specialty Coffee 2017 Group Taiwan for Pacamara coffee.
2. The first place in taste at Boquete Specialty Coffee 2017 Group Taiwan for Geisha coffee.
3. The third place of BEST OF PANAMA in 2017 Pacamara group.
Future Expectations
Dona Elvira's neighbor is the benchmark for Geisha - the Esmeralda farm. How close is this neighbor? They are right on the other side of our fence. In any industry, to achieve excellence, one must use industry benchmarks as goals, constantly鞭策 oneself, and continuously improve. Our farm is dedicated to growing high-quality coffee beans so that everyone can enjoy the taste of high-quality coffee. Currently, Dona Elvira is still in its infant stage, and I believe it will continue to bring surprises to everyone during its future growth process.
This is the Elvira Estate that FrontStreet Coffee has long awaited. The area is approximately 120 hectares, with forests providing necessary shade for coffee growth. The main cultivated variety is Bourbon, with coffee growing on slopes above 1200m elevation, extending to the 1350m mountain ridge. This particular selection from Elvira Estate is the farm's specialty grade.
This Geisha coffee becomes quite brilliant, finishing with the tannic mouthfeel of clear tea. It makes for an ideal single-origin coffee with intense sweetness, syrup-like body, and complex fruit flavors.
