Baoshan

Baoshan is a city under Yunnan Province, located in western Yunnan and China's largest coffee growing area. With an average annual temperature of 21.3°C, annual sunshine of 2334.5 hours, annual rainfall of 721.51-100mm, and accumulated temperature of 7800°C at 10°C or above, it is basically frost-free throughout the year. With a long history of cultivation and rich experience, it has over 50 years of coffee growing history.

In the late 1950s, Baoshan Yunnan small bean coffee was rated as first-class in the London market and earned the beautiful name "Lujiang No. 1". In 1980, it was recognized as "the crown of national coffee" at the national coffee conference. In 1987, the technical president of Swiss Nestlé Coffee Company, after tasting Baoshan small bean coffee, praised: "This is the best coffee I have had in China." In December 2010, after review by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, it was decided to grant national geographical indication product protection to "Baoshan Small Bean Coffee".
