It ranks as the ninth largest coffee export product in East Africa. What makes Malawi coffee beans particularly special is their production and marketing model, which is managed by locally organized companies that independently handle production, processing, and sales, rather than being government-controlled like Kenya's centralized distribution system. This approach has consistently maintained coffee quality at a certain level, making it one of the world's rare high-quality coffee beans.

The Republic of Malawi is a landlocked country in southeastern Africa, bordered by Tanzania to the north, Zambia to the west, and separated from Mozambique by Lake Malawi (Africa's third-largest lake) to the east. Among African nations, Malawi stands out as one of the most politically stable countries and one of the few unaffected by civil war. Theoretically, with a favorable natural environment and political stability, it should have excellent economic development conditions. Surprisingly, their GDP is only approximately $600 USD, making it the second poorest country in the world according to United Nations assessments. This is largely due to the impact of HIV/AIDS. According to 2003 data, the adult HIV infection rate reached 14.2%, meaning approximately 900,000 people were living with HIV/AIDS. The average life expectancy of Malawians is only 36.97 years. With a population of about 12.5 million people, over 90% reside in underdeveloped rural areas. Malawi Geisha varieties are primarily cultivated in the high-altitude Misuku region. Malawi is situated in southeastern Africa as a landlocked country without coastline. The northern to central eastern regions border Tanzania, featuring the vast natural boundary of Lake Malawi. This lake even extends to the border with Mozambique.
