US Company Invests $200 Million to Support Vietnamese Coffee Farmers
Vietnam's Labor newspaper reported on July 5th that Mondelez International, the world's second-largest coffee company, announced in Hanoi on July 3rd that it will invest $200 million to support Vietnamese farmers in growing coffee in the Central Highlands and Lam Dong provinces.
Through the "Coffee Makes Happiness" program, the company will train 1,500 coffee farmers to increase coffee yield and quality. The plan aims to produce 7,000 tons of 4C-standard coffee by 2020, improving the lives of 5,000 farming households.
