Main Growing Regions and Estates of Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee
Notable Blue Mountain Coffee Estates and Regions in Jamaica
Currently, we have identified several renowned Blue Mountain coffee estates and growing regions in Jamaica:
1. Wallenford Estate
A famous historic estate producing various grades of Blue Mountain coffee, from No. 1 to the lowest quality. With relatively small annual production, their green beans are primarily supplied to Japan. Roasted beans are available in 2 oz, 4 oz, 8 oz, 12 oz, 1 lb, 2 lb, and 5 lb packages. The exterior is packaged in natural jute bags with internal aluminum foil one-way valve packaging. The jute bags are printed with dark blue "100% Blue Mountain Coffee" lettering. Additionally, this estate also offers blended Blue Mountain and High Mountain coffee.
2. Amber Estate
A renowned high-quality Blue Mountain coffee estate whose Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee quality surpasses that of Wallenford Estate. The local price also exceeds that of Wallenford Estate, with green beans primarily supplied to Europe, America, and Japan. Blue Mountain beans are only available in 8 oz and 1 lb packages, while other High Mountain beans come in 2 oz, 4 oz, 8 oz, and 1 lb packages. The exterior uses white jute bags, tied at the top with jute rope, and printed with Amber Estate's circular blue logo, distinguishing it from Wallenford's packaging.
3. Moy Hall Region
This region produces high-quality Blue Mountain coffee and serves as a competitor to Wallenford Estate. Their Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee green beans are primarily supplied to Europe, America, and Japan.
4. Mavis Bank Region
This area produces Blue Mountain coffee and houses numerous processing facilities, making it a major Blue Mountain coffee production and processing zone primarily supplying Japan. The famous Jablum company is located in this region. Jablum is UCC's main green bean supplier and Jamaica's largest Blue Mountain coffee exporter. However, its quality is the poorest compared to the aforementioned estates. Nevertheless, UCC's Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee remains renowned, demonstrating the exceptional quality of Blue Mountain coffee.
