Hey, could you come to the police station for a cup of coffee?
Recently, a coffee stall at a creative market in Ningbo became the standout attraction of the entire event. A purple-blue sign read "POLICE COFFEE" - did you think this was a coffee stall with a police station collaboration theme? Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! This time, it was actually a coffee stall opened by the police station themselves, and the ones making coffee for everyone were real police officers - no fake... well, they didn't dare to fake!
This was a coffee stall opened by the Jiangbei Branch of the Ningbo Public Security Bureau with the theme "Have you prevented fraud today?" The standard blue-and-white storefront was paired with slogans like "Making money isn't easy, cherish what you earn" and "Uncle's coffee is safe to drink. Don't wait until you're scammed to drink coffee at the police station - it'll be bitter." This made the traditionally serious colors more approachable, and the adorable "contrast effect" successfully attracted the attention of every market visitor.
Charismatic Police Officers Draw Crowds
Beyond the eye-catching colors, the reason the coffee stall became the event's "hottest spot" was truly because of the most charismatic and righteous police officers! Some carefully made coffee for everyone, some patiently guided visitors to download anti-fraud apps, some introduced and explained common fraud types and methods, answered on-site questions, and distributed handmade anti-fraud small gifts.
Creative Anti-Fraud Messaging
To achieve better promotional effects, the police officers put in tremendous effort. Each cup of coffee was tagged with slogans like "Want to find love, not engage in brush scams" and "Dating is fine, talking about money is not!" Anti-fraud small gifts were also created differently for different age groups.
Thoughtful Gifts for All Ages
For elderly people, they prepared neck card holders with messages like "Health products aren't necessary, investments aren't reliable, hold tight to your money, protect your retirement funds." For children, they prepared rulers and stationery, using cute cartoon characters to tell children to be wary of bad uncles. For young people, they prepared adorable police cartoon stickers that can be used to decorate phone cases and other items. Of course, you could choose the small gift you wanted~
How to Get "Police Coffee"
Getting a cup of this "police coffee" wasn't difficult. By downloading relevant apps following on-site guidance, checking in and posting on social media with an anti-fraud declaration, and collecting 8 or more likes, you could get a free cup of coffee handmade by police officers. Many netizens who got to drink the coffee said: "This is so heartwarming! I never thought anti-fraud education could be so artistic."
Creative Educational Approach
The reason for this coffee stall pop-up event, as explained by the police officers: "Combining with the coffee culture popular among young people today, we hope to attract young people to learn about anti-fraud knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere, and then have them pass this knowledge on to their elders at home." To help visitors better understand anti-fraud knowledge, the police officers also invited a talk show host to explain common fraud cases in a more relaxed and humorous way.
Growing Trend of Police-Coffee Collaborations
Since last year, many public security bureaus have also begun "collaborating" with coffee shops/coffee brands, allowing people to learn more about fraud prevention while drinking coffee. Some have opened themed coffee shops within police bureau compounds, while others have collaborated with brands like Luckin/Starbucks. By distributing anti-fraud label stickers to themed coffee shops and Starbucks/Luckin stores within their jurisdictions, and placing these labels on coffee cups when serving, they have advanced anti-fraud promotion efforts.
Permanent Police-Themed Coffee Location
Besides this pop-up event, the Ningbo Jiangbei Police Station has also authorized a coffee shop to open "Police Station COFFEE" on Waitan Street. The Jiangbei Branch of the Ningbo Public Security Bureau stated: This coffee shop is not opened by the police; it's just a collaboration with the coffee shop for anti-fraud promotion. The coffee shop contains some anti-fraud promotional elements and cartoon police images, promoting fraud prevention knowledge to the public and raising anti-fraud awareness.
The police officers have truly put in tremendous effort to protect everyone's money!
