Gesha Village Coffee Estate is the name of an Ethiopian coffee farm — and that full name is Gesha Village Coffee Estate.

This is a farm that pursues high-quality specialty coffee above all else, showing excellence at every step from bean quality, cultivation, and harvesting to processing methods and database building. Rarity (Rarities)

These exquisite coffees represent 10% of Gesha Village's total production, featuring complex flavors and exceptional rarity. Rarity coffees are the top tier produced outside the farm's auction platform and are frequently chosen by international competition baristas.

Grower's Reserve

These special micro-lots account for 15% of production, showing outstanding flavor characteristics and exceptional cup quality, scoring 88 points or above on the SCA 100-point scale.

Single-Terroir

These lots come from a specific farm block within Gesha Village. The farm provides complete traceability information for every Single-Terroir batch, including the block name, coffee variety, and processing date. Minimum purchase quantities for Single-Terroir coffees range from 20 to 40 bags.

Chaka

This production line blends exquisite coffees from all farm blocks across the entire harvest season. The Gesha Village Gesha blend includes three varieties: Gori Gesha, Gesha 1931, and Illubabor (an Ethiopian native, disease-resistant variety).

The Chaka series is offered as either natural or washed coffee, delivering consistently delicious flavors year after year.

FrontStreet Coffee's Red Label coffee uses a medium-light roast, with sweet orange, strawberry, honey, and a fermented wine aroma.

Ethiopia is the birthplace of Gesha, and Gesha Village is its most famous estate-level ambassador. A couple built the 475-hectare farm about 12 miles from the original Gesha forest, then — guided by plant morphology, bean shape, and cup performance — identified the variety closest to Panama's Gesha (essentially the native landrace) and brought it back to plant on the estate. Sitting beside the wild Gesha forest with rigorous quality control and standardized management, Gesha Village is one of the few large-scale estates in Ethiopia, and its coffees are a must-try for advanced pour-over drinkers.

Its grading is even more layered than Panama's Esmeralda. The estate grows three Gesha varieties — Gori Gesha, Gesha 1931, and Illubabor Forest — and ranks its coffees as Gold Label (RARITIES), Red Label (GROWERS RESERVE), Green Label (SINGLE-TERROIR), and Chaka batches, further distinguished by variety.
