Therefore, coffee from Sigri Estate is also known as Bird of Paradise coffee.

In Papua New Guinea, coffee is a national-level crop, and its bean variety originates from the renowned Blue Mountain Typica (introduced in 1927). Like Jamaica, it is an island nation, and the coffee varieties share the same origin. Although neighboring Indonesia, its flavor profile is completely different from Mandheling!

Sigri Estate is located in the Wahgi Valley of the western highlands of Papua New Guinea, at an altitude of approximately 1600-1800 meters. Coffee cultivation began here in the 1950s. The fertile soil, moderate rainfall, and cool climate make it ideal for coffee cultivation. The harvest season for this estate runs from April to September each year, with primarily manual picking. The estate also minimizes the use of pesticides and insecticides to protect the ecological environment to the greatest extent possible.
