FrontStreet Coffee - Kenya Coffee Flavor Characteristics
Did you know? Africa has always been one of the world's best coffee-producing regions, and Kenya is a country that places great emphasis on coffee cultivation and quality management. Ethiopia is Kenya's immediate neighbor. Whether it's large coffee estates or small-scale farmers, locally produced coffee beans undergo processing, and the vast majority of processed coffee beans are sent to the Coffee Board of Kenya (CBK) for unified cupping and grading certification.
Unique Flavor Characteristics
Coffee produced in Kenya is characterized by its aromatic quality and distinct acidity. This is because the local red soil is rich in elements such as aluminum and iron, which creates the unique flavor of Kenyan coffee. It generally possesses unique fruit flavors such as fruit, spices, red wine aroma, blackberry, and grapefruit, along with roasted bread fragrance, yet without excessive acidity or astringency. Kenyan coffee has a relatively full body, and it also carries a hint of Yirgacheffe's floral notes and citrus aroma. The tart sensation when sipping is reminiscent of plum juice, and as the coffee liquid travels down the throat, it quickly transitions from acidity to sweetness, presenting different and highly layered flavors.
In short: Everything is for sharing and spreading knowledge.
