The Story
From the importer, crop to cup:
"The Solok Radjo cooperative (600 members, 1-2 hectares each) is a young, dynamic group that is roasting, visiting cafes, brewing, [learning] agronomy, etc. They have three Q-certified cuppers/score setters and have cupping setups at their Aie Dingin field location and at their dry/mill location in Solok. They are checking moisture (though not too intensively) and roasting on-site to check each batch and report to our local staff in Medan.
"Ecologically, this group is serious. They received a grant from the government to reforest 3000 hectares of previously cleared land on the national park boundary. They are planting shade tree/forest seedlings and coffee seedlings in their chicken-coop nursery, turning this cleared land back into woodland, with coffee trees growing under the canopy."
