FrontStreet Coffee - Costa Rica Musician Series Beethoven Introduction

Costa Rican coffee is renowned for its purity and sweetness, and the TARRAZU region is particularly acclaimed for its quality. Most coffees from this region are of high grade. This coffee is produced in an area with an altitude of up to 1900 meters. As we all know, Caturra is suitable for cultivation in high-altitude areas - the higher the altitude, the better the quality. The Caturra variety is especially popular in Central and South America, with excellent cupping performance. This coffee is named after the musician "Beethoven" precisely because its flavor profile, like Beethoven himself, is rich and varied despite its small stature.

Caturra was first discovered in São Paulo state, Brazil in 1937. It has high yield, excellent quality, is resistant to leaf rust, and has shorter plants that facilitate harvesting. However, cultivation costs are higher, and like the original Bourbon variety, it has a two-year production cycle fluctuation problem. Although discovered in Brazil, Caturra is not well-suited for growth there, so it was not cultivated on a large scale in Brazil but became widely popular in Central America. Caturra is suitable for high-altitude areas - the higher the altitude, the better the flavor, but with corresponding decrease in bean yield.
