Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee specifically refers to coffee produced in the officially designated Blue Mountain coffee growing area of Jamaica, processed and screened according to official grade selection guidelines, and inspected and qualified by the official supervisory agency, COFFEE INDUSTRY BOARD OF JAMAICA.

Blue Mountain enjoys a unique geographical location and climatic conditions, located right within the "coffee belt," with fertile new volcanic soil that is particularly rich in minerals, fresh and pollution-free air, and a humid climate. Such climate, environment, and soil make the produced coffee smooth on the palate, with a perfect balance of acidity, bitterness, and sweetness, creating a fragrant and mellow taste with a long-lasting aftertaste, making Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee renowned worldwide.

Classification and Grading of Blue Mountain

The history of Jamaican coffee can be traced back to the 18th century when the British introduced coffee seeds to Jamaica and cultivated coffee on the Blue Mountain range. This is further divided into high-altitude Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, Jamaica High Mountain Coffee, and Jamaica Coffee, with different grades determining different prices.

1. Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee

Within Blue Mountain Coffee and High Mountain Coffee, each is further divided into four grades. Ranked by quality from highest to lowest: NO.1, NO.2, NO.3, and PB, where PB stands for Peaberry. According to CIB standards, only coffee grown at altitudes above 666 meters is called Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee; the ultimate treasure among coffee treasures, produced in the mountainous areas of Jamaica's Blue Mountains at heights of approximately 2000-2256m. Due to its location on precarious mountain slopes, production is scarce, with large beans of excellent quality and harmonious flavor, while possessing appropriate acidity, bitterness, aroma, richness, and sweetness. It is recognized worldwide as the ultimate treasure, which is why the price of National Treasure Blue Mountain No.1 is the highest among all Blue Mountain coffees. A pound sells for over a thousand RMB, which is also why domestic Blue Mountain coffee is so expensive.

2. Jamaica High Mountain Coffee

Coffee produced in the Blue Mountain region of Jamaica below 666 meters is called High Mountain Coffee. It is also the coffee with quality second only to Blue Mountain Coffee, known within the industry as the sibling variety of Blue Mountain Coffee. Due to the extremely limited production of Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, if you wish to taste Jamaican-flavored coffee, then Jamaica High Mountain Coffee is your best choice.

3. Jamaica Coffee

Coffee grown in regions outside the Blue Mountain range is called Jamaica Coffee. Originally, Chinese coffee professionals generally had a misconception that only coffee grown in the Blue Mountain area above 1800 meters altitude could be called Blue Mountain Coffee. In fact, on the mountain crown above 1800 meters of the Blue Mountain range, there is only one estate - Amber, owned by descendants of Chinese people. The owner's surname is Lyn (Lin), with ancestral roots in Guangdong, China. The estate has only 30 hectares of land with very limited production. Blue Mountain Coffee is mainly distributed across five mountainous areas of the Blue Mountain range: John Crow, St. John's Peak, Mossman's Peak, High Peak, and Blue Mountain Peak.
