The higher the altitude where coffee trees are grown, the relatively better the quality of the coffee will be. For example, Arabica beans are typically grown at altitudes between 1000-2000 meters in highland areas, while Robusta beans are generally grown in plain areas below 800 meters.

The most common coffee tree varieties are Arabica and Robusta. Among them, Arabica accounts for about 70%, while Robusta accounts for about 30%.

Arabica

Arabica coffee tree varieties have poor resistance to pests and diseases and are more demanding in terms of growing conditions. They have high requirements for air humidity, regional altitude, soil fertility, sunlight conditions, and other factors.

Arabica coffee beans are larger in size and have rich flavor layers.

Climatic factors are the prerequisite for coffee cultivation and growth. Coffee trees are only suitable for growing in tropical and subtropical regions between 25 degrees north and south latitude. This region is often referred to as the "coffee growing belt" or "coffee production area." However, not all land located within this area can cultivate excellent coffee tree varieties. The most suitable areas for coffee tree cultivation and growth must have appropriate temperature (annual average temperature between 15-25 degrees), moderate rainfall (annual rainfall must reach 1500-2000 millimeters and can coordinate with the flowering cycle of coffee trees), fertile soil (soil containing volcanic ash), and good drainage.

Coffee trees are extremely selective about their growing environment. Coffee trees prefer cool climates and grow best in soil covered with volcanic ash. While requiring appropriate rainfall, they also need good drainage. Both drought and flooding have fatal effects on the growth of coffee trees. Coffee trees also have certain requirements for sunlight and the quality of irrigation water. To obtain superior coffee beans, strict control must be maintained over soil composition, rainfall and irrigation, sunlight duration, and ambient temperature when cultivating coffee trees.

The higher the altitude of the coffee tree growing area (generally referring to heights above 1000 meters), the higher the value of the coffee beans produced. The higher the altitude, the lower the temperature, and the slower the coffee grows. Due to the extended fruit maturation period, more elements accumulate during the growth process. Coffee beans produced under these conditions are small yet full, and when made into coffee, they have rich aroma and unique flavor.
