Burundi is a small African country nestled between Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania. The history of coffee cultivation in Burundi began in the 1930s, when Belgians introduced coffee to the country. Since 1998, Burundi has marketed its coffee under the brand name "NGOMA Mild." In other words, high-quality Burundi coffee beans are collectively referred to as "NGOMA Mild." In reality, however, there are still flavor variations among them.

I believe the quality of Burundi coffee beans is generally quite good - they are sweet, smooth and clean. Finding truly exceptional Burundi coffee beans, though, really depends on luck.

The cup shows immediate sweetness - balanced and bright, with citrus and lemon notes that are clear and clean and a quite smooth mouthfeel. This is a Bourbon variety, yet it offers a different flavor experience from Bourbon produced in Central and South America. In short, this is a rare, high-quality Burundi coffee bean that connoisseurs should not miss.
