Starbucks Customer Makeup Controversy

Yesterday, a netizen reported to the media that she was asked to leave while applying makeup at a Starbucks store in Shenzhen on the day she received her marriage certificate in early March.

According to the unilateral statement provided by the netizen, she had called the store two days before the incident to ask if she could apply makeup inside the store. The staff member at that time replied that it would be fine as long as she didn't disturb other customers.

On the day of the incident, after purchasing a coffee and two bread items, she confirmed again with the staff, who told her to stay in a corner and not disturb others. However, during her makeup application, she was approached and verbally abused by the duty manager.

Since the store in question is located near the Civil Affairs Bureau, the netizen's makeup artist had applied makeup at the same Starbucks store more than 20 times throughout the year without any opposition. She expressed great dissatisfaction that such an incident occurred on her marriage registration day.

Store Response and Resolution

After the incident, the media contacted the store to inquire about the matter. The store manager responded: "If during makeup application, the customer sprayed something that affected other customers, the store would indeed step in to remind them. The duty manager's voice was indeed somewhat loud during the reminder process."

Following the incident, the customer's entire order was refunded, and two apology vouchers (free medium drink coupons) were provided. Regarding the impact of this incident, the regional manager has already stepped in to communicate, but the store does not have the authority to know the final resolution.
