Anti-Fraud Coffee Shop: Chengdu's Innovative Approach to Public Safety

On January 11th, at a square in a commercial area of Chengdu, Sichuan, an "Anti-Fraud Coffee Shop" themed with police and anti-fraud elements attracted many citizens to experience and check in. Next to the "Anti-Fraud Coffee Shop" is the Jiuli Di Police Station Service Point, which is integrated with it.

This coffee shop was jointly launched by the Jiuli Di Police Station of the Jinniu Branch of the Chengdu Public Security Bureau and the management of CapitaMall. The shop features anti-fraud colors of "black and white," and at the entrance stands a cute "panda police officer." This adorable contrast makes this coffee shop the most eye-catching spot on the street.

However, don't misunderstand - this isn't about police officers selling coffee, but rather about police officers promoting anti-fraud knowledge here.

A New Frontier for Anti-Fraud Education

As the first police service station jointly built in a commercial area in Chengdu, it will become a frontline position for anti-fraud knowledge promotion, while the coffee shop serves as a functional venue for police-citizen interaction.

Everyone knows that previous anti-fraud information campaigns mostly adopted traditional methods such as hanging banners, community meetings, police distributing leaflets, mobile text messages, or app push notifications. These methods are too difficult to attract attention because there are too many information channels in society today, and our capacity to receive information is indeed limited. However, this coffee shop format for anti-fraud information promotion makes it easy for people to remember.

Moreover, combining cartoon images with police creates a novel format that allows people to break away from the serious image of police officers, bridging the gap between police and citizens.

Creative Anti-Fraud Messaging

Furthermore, to enhance the promotional effect, the coffee shop has printed interesting and trending anti-fraud slogans such as "Financial masters will take you soaring, be careful of being crushed to ashes" and "Peaches and pears are absolutely amazing, but beware of cunning scammers" on cup sleeves and straw holders. This way, with every sip of coffee, anti-fraud knowledge enters our system along with the coffee, turning us all into knowledgeable people with "ink in our bellies."

Police Presence and Community Engagement

According to reports, in the police service station next to the coffee shop, police officers are usually stationed to handle disputes and assist with cases of missing persons. (This might be the coffee shop with the greatest sense of security...) Additionally, during special holidays or legal awareness promotion months, they will also proactively come to this coffee shop to conduct legal education or anti-fraud knowledge presentations.

Engaging Younger Generations

As soon as the Anti-Fraud Coffee Shop opened, it attracted many young customers to check in. Police officers have also expressed that by combining with the current coffee culture popular among young people, they hope to attract young people to learn about anti-fraud knowledge, who can then convey this information to their elders at home, thereby raising everyone's awareness of anti-fraud and anti-theft, reducing the occurrence of fraud cases.

Now, many police departments in various regions have begun to "collaborate" with coffee shops/coffee brands, allowing people to learn more about anti-fraud knowledge while drinking coffee. It seems that police officers have exhausted their creativity to protect everyone's wallets and ensure people can return home with full pockets for a good New Year celebration.
