The outbreak of the pandemic has left the Shanghai region facing a shortage of supplies. To purchase groceries, people are using the same speed and luck they once used to grab courses in school, frantically clicking the payment button... Those whose hands can't keep up are even using massage guns... Even after completing payment, they're not guaranteed to get what they selected, ultimately having to check what actually arrives and then process refunds.

Government Response to Supply Shortages

Facing the problem of supply shortages, Shanghai's Vice Mayor responded at today's press conference: Currently, Shanghai's reserves of rice, flour, grains, oil, and meat are relatively sufficient. Due to epidemic prevention and control measures, there's a phenomenon where daily necessities have difficulty reaching doorsteps. We are making every effort to advance support work and strive to address issues such as inefficient procurement and distribution, while working to ensure that vegetable packages distributed across all districts achieve full coverage.

When some people successfully secure supplies, others inevitably miss out, especially meat products. So today, a blogger posted about this:

The blogger then found a neighbor to ask if they had any food. Of course, you can't just "take" someone else's food without giving something in return, but the blogger only had coffee to offer... Originally not expecting much, the result! Truly exceeded his expectations.

An Unexpected Trade

Who would have thought that in such tense times, a bottle of coffee could be exchanged for desperately longed-for food? Faced with this situation, one netizen commented:

Then another netizen commented: ...It seems you can trade coffee beans for meat and vegetables in the community? And then posted this image:

Reflection and Call to Action

Because this pandemic has greatly exceeded people's expectations, everyone didn't prepare sufficient supplies to face this lockdown policy. Some might be wondering: At a time like this, is it worth it? As long as both parties in the exchange feel it's worth it - he misses meat, he misses coffee.

However, this is not recommended! At this time, everyone should stay quietly at home, reduce contact, cooperate with epidemic prevention work, follow arrangements, and help bring this pandemic under control as quickly as possible, so the virus can disperse soon!

Shanghai, stay strong!

All cities, stay strong!
