Tarrazú coffee green beans are blue-green in color, characterized by extremely hard beans. The beans are plump but not large, with slightly uniform size. Using full washed processing, the variety is Costa Rican Caturra. To highlight its refreshing and clean taste, we use light to medium roasting. Cupping the roasted coffee reveals moderate body, smooth and palatable, with a slight fruity acidity upon entry. It has a rich sugarcane flavor, intense dry aroma similar to osmanthus fragrance. The aroma becomes lighter after brewing, and the taste becomes smoother as the temperature decreases. This is a coffee suitable for summer consumption.

Costa Rica's climate conditions are completely different, completely overturning the classification of four seasons. Here there are only two seasons: April to December is winter, with more rainfall; from late December to April of the next year is the dry season, also called summer. The capital San José has an average annual temperature ranging from 15°C to 26°C; coastal areas have relatively higher temperatures, with the Caribbean region having an average nighttime temperature of 21°C and average daytime temperature of 30°C. Due to the coffee cultivation industry, coffee farming is considered a relatively advanced profession in Costa Rica. Coffee farmers hold a prestigious status in Costa Rica.

Costa Rica has laws that only allow the cultivation of Arabica, with Robusta being considered "contraband" within its borders - a pioneering initiative rarely seen worldwide. Costa Rica's production is not large, with an annual output of about 110,000 tons, ranking seventh in Central and South America. The country focuses on recent coffee varieties such as Caturra, Catuai, Mundo Novo, etc., while ancient Bourbon and Typica are less common. Several varieties have also been developed within the country, the most famous being the Bourbon variety Villa Sarchi, which belongs to the category of elegant-flavored varieties.

The Tarrazú region has the highest average latitude, excellent climate and soil conditions, making Tarrazú the most famous and generally recognized as the best major coffee-producing region in Costa Rica. Tres Rios is a famous small-producing area within the Tarrazú region.
