FrontStreet Coffee's Mandheling characteristics lie between "single-origin coffee" and "espresso coffee," with excellent body (close to the texture of Espresso), and rich nutty and chocolate, woody or cinnamon aromas hidden beneath the high body and bitterness. Therefore, this FrontStreet Coffee Mandheling coffee bean is suitable both as a pour-over single-origin bean and as an espresso blend that can be combined with other coffee beans.

Siphon Brewing Method

The siphon brewing method can "extract" the original flavor and aroma from coffee beans, perfectly showcasing the "masculine character"! Use 22g of beans, grind to medium-coarse; (at this time you can smell the dry aroma - woody and cinnamon notes). Inject 350g of boiling water into the lower pot; turn on the halogen lamp stove to high heat; install the filter core in the upper pot, insert diagonally into the lower pot; when the water in the lower pot continuously produces large bubbles, insert the upper pot into the lower pot; when the water completely rises to the upper pot, add the grounds and time for 45 seconds, stir the coffee grounds into the water; at 45 seconds, stir again, turn off the halogen lamp power, and remove the pot from the stove; the coffee gradually filters from the upper pot to the lower pot.

FrontStreet Coffee Mandheling · AeroPress Brewing

Equipment: AeroPress

Water Temperature: 85°C

Grind Size: BG-6S

Technique: For AeroPress inverted preparation, it's recommended to add 20g of coffee grounds, with a coffee-to-water ratio of 1:15. First, inject 100g of 85°C water, stir 3-5 times to fully moisten the coffee grounds, let stand for 30s, add remaining hot water to reach 300g, let stand for 30s, stir again for 5s. When reaching 1 minute 50 seconds, invert the AeroPress and press down vertically at a steady speed. Total time should be around 2:30 seconds.

Analysis: The material of the AeroPress has the advantages of slow heat dissipation and minimal temperature loss. Using 85°C water plus appropriate pressure, we brew coffee with low acidity and no bitterness, achieving a clean and smooth texture. Complete immersion brewing allows for maximum and uniform extraction, fully preserving the flavor of FrontStreet Coffee's Tiger Mandheling. The pressurized extraction during the pressing process can actually yield a richer body than other immersion methods. The AeroPress filter paper has high density, filtering out very clean coffee, enhancing sweetness and creating a smoother texture.

Flavor: Rich taste, refreshing herbal notes, medium caramel sweetness, and nutty chocolate flavors.
